A 5-Hour Certification Is Required to Perform Chemical Peels in Oregon

To legally and safely offer chemical peels in the state of Oregon, licensed estheticians must complete 5 hours of board-recognized training. This comes directly from Oregon Administrative Rule OAR 817-015-0055 (Chemical Peels), issued by the Oregon Health Authority's Board of Cosmetology. The rule prohibits estheticians from performing peels beyond the stratum basale and requires five documented hours of training or education in very superficial and superficial chemical peels before either service can be performed. It's a straightforward requirement, and one that protects both you and your clients.

At the 2026 Oregon Esthetics Show, X Formulations is the only provider offering this state-required 5-hour certification — taught in person, with hands-on training and real clinical protocols.
